As an outgrowth of my interest in sailing and the training I got years ago as a naval officer I have developed a strong interest in celestial navigation. I've been giving talks at yacht clubs and sailing schools. (One of my favorites is "What's an Analemma?" ). I've taught individuals and groups. (One class started with 50 people!)
To help people get started I've written an: Introduction to Celestial Navigation.
I've served as navigator on a number of ocean sailing trips, and taught the crew while I was at it.
